Background

Crosslink Community Garden is doing work that actually matters. They grow fresh food in an area where access to it isn't guaranteed. When I found out about the garden and what they were working toward, I wanted to find a way to help.

Partnering with Crosslink Community Garden

I reached out to Ivey, who coordinates work at the garden, and offered to design and print a few tools to help with their irrigation setup and general organization. She welcomed the idea right away and asked for watering pins and plant ID tags.

After printing a batch of each, I coordinated a drop-off during one of the garden's regular work sessions and delivered everything in person

What I Made

Rapid-flow watering pins: Pushed directly into soil near roots, these deliver water exactly where it needs to go

Plant ID stakes: flat-faced stakes for labeling beds and rows. Big enough to write on clearly, and sturdy enough to stay put in the ground.

Both are printed in PETG for durability and weather resistance, so they can handle NC summers and winters without degrading.

Locally Made With Care

Every piece was designed and printed by me. I used PETG filament for both items because of its outdoor durability and ability to handle UV exposure far better than standard PLA.
